Kelly Correll is an Oakland, CA based artist and musician. She works primarily in the areas of drawing, painting, mixed media, and music/sound. Her recent work is a reflection on magick, dreams, memory and the breakdown of systems within an absencescape. She is a singer and keyboardist with the band, Esses, and has been actively performing in the Bay Area underground music scene since 2001.
Originally from Los Angeles, CA - and raised in the film industry - Kelly was exposed to art in its many iterations as an early age. She started performing as a small child and moved into visual art and performance in the late 1990’s. She holds a BFA in painting/drawing from the California College of the Arts (2005, High Distinction) as well as an AA in textile design from FIDM (1999, President’s Honors). She has been showing her work professionally since 1999. Kelly has worked as a costume designer and seamstress for independent and established theater companies in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She currently works for the University of California, Berkeley
Kelly lives in a house with purple stairs with her partner - photographer and fellow musician - Kevin Brown, their two sons, and two fat cats.
